Our Story
The original company UK Film Academy was set up 18 years ago by Louisa and Dan. Louisa was fresh out of the West End of London and had few parts in films. Dan was successful on TV and was even the voice of Harry Potter video games. We started off wanting to pass on our contacts and skills to students giving them casting opportunity’s and helping them get on TV and even made a successful internet drama. Over the years We began to realise the class were so much more about getting kids on TV and could see that drama was therapeutic, although the TV opportunity is something we still do at the Uk Film Academy Class. We had many kids over the years who were having a hard time at school with Bullying dyslexia, Dyspraxia ADHD, autism the kids were in relatable company as Louisa has ADHD and dyslexia and Dan as Autism and dyslexia, problems with their social interaction. Louisa started to create films using the young people voices and experience to highlight these issues creating some award-winning films.
Although we are very proud of our ex-students many who are TV regally now what we are most proud of is when see these students’ friends for life and then their parents tell us it helps them navigate better through their teenage years. Students have the opportunity to create their own showreels live showcase in front of invited casting directors and agents as well take part in award winning films.
Since covid young people are struggling even more.

Students also if they wish have the oppertunity to take part in either writing / filming / acting in the films to bringing awareness to the issues young people face today.
